We currently have an abundance of local grown goodies available as we head into the months of autumn. Of which is, as follows: - Watercress, all varieties of beetroot, strawberries, Heritage tomatoes, broccoli, hispi cabbage, courgettes, marrows, Savoy Cabbage, Cauliflowers, Corn on the cob, Cucumbers, Padron peppers, Jem lettuce, Cos lettuce, fancy lettuce (most varieties) Micro Pea shoots, Micro Red Radish Cress & Micro sunflower shoots. All harvest everyday for us and collect by our fleet of vehicles after there round of morning deliveries.

 

 

We currently have two driving positions available, they are as follows-

Part time driving (2 days per week)

Relief driving - Covering existing drivers holidays and days in absence.

As we enter the more promising months of the year - we have a lot to look forward to. Firstly the easing of 'Lockdown' and of course the start of core local grown produce!

With the coldest spring on record we unfortunately have a slight delay in local grown and English produce. Usually by now, we would have been receiving our first deliveries of local loose Grade A asparagus, however this is expected to start within the next 2 weeks.

The famous Nutbourne tomatoes are now in stock and available for all wholesale and retail customers - volumes are slightly limited to begin with, of which should improve as time goes on. You haven't had a tomato, until you have had a *Nutbourne Tomate*. Gary and Jenny have spent most of their life, perfecting the best heritage range we have ever seen and tasted. Flavours and quality is simply fascinating.

Local strawberries are now available from Runcton/Groves Farm, they simply taste superb. Raspberries, blackberries and blueberries to follow in due course once the warmer months arrive.

We had a site visit at Nutbourne Place Farm this week to view the early stages of their produce for this up and coming season - Cucumbers, raspberries, strawberries, asparagus, padron peppers, jalapeno peppers, artichokes and more - grown with attention to detail! Watch this space for updates, once available.

Our local growers in Chidham and Bosham area will be supplying us with brassicas and root veg this year- along with all other local growers, we will be collecting on a daily basis. The range will be increased as the months move on.

Certain mixed salad leaves, rocket, spinach and whole heads of lettuce will be sourced from our growers in bosham, last spring. With Hampshire grown fancy lettuce heads, starting very earlier summer.

We have a number of safeguarding rules in place within our retail premises to protect our staff and you, the customer. Only 5 customers are allowed in the shop at a time, facemasks are now compulsory and hand sanitizer must be used upon entry (we have contactless sanitizer at the entrance to the shop) - Our till area is now screened off to provide maximum safety.

All of our wonderful produce is still procured fresh on a daily basis, 6 days per week. We also stock a large range of dairy items such as milk, cheeses, bread and eggs. Sundries and 'cupboard' items are also available, such as tinned tomatoes, salt & pepper, gravy granules, fruit juice & squash and our ever popular Pipers crisps.

We would also like to thank our tremendous team of staff, of whom have been working extremely hard during this pandemic. Without you, this is not possible!

As we continue through interesting times with Covid-19 we are still operating as per normal in both our retail and wholesale departments with strict government guidelines followed.

We are still offering free home deliveries with no minimum order - collection is also available. Orders can be placed over the phone or via e-mail.

We now have a lovely range of local grown brassicas available which are cut and collected on a daily basis - of which will be available into the winter. English sprouts are now in an abundance, with local grown to follow shortly.

Local strawberries and raspberries are still readily available as we move into October /Nov.

The nectarine and peach season is slowly coming to an end now as October begins, along with the newly popular English plum season.

We have an abundance of Pulborough grown mixed chilli's and padron peppers still available, along with onion squashes and cucumbers. The ever popular Nutbourne Tomatoes are still readily available.

Mixed English squashes are now available in anticipation for Halloween.

All new season potatoes are into full swing now with over 12 different varieties to choose from.
